Pinterest Hires Google’s Media Partnership Manager

In a surprising twist of events, Pinterest has officially hired a media partnership manager; Ronald Macdonald, who had previously worked at Google in the same role.

Macdonald had also successfully served in the same position at Scribd and Dstillery. Pinterest believes that it is time for them to start supporting their publishers and develop a more encouraging environment for their partners to target their audience.

Helping Publishers

Pinterest announced the news at their press event and their spokesperson shared their plans for the future as they now have hired on board a media partnership manager. He stated that, “at Pinterest, we look forward to associating ourselves with a wide range of publishers, both digital and traditional companies across all platforms. They are already using our platform, and we aim to support them further.”

Statistics recently showed that after Facebook, Pinterest played a major role as a referral for Buzzfeed. In surprising news, while everyone knows the great potential that Facebook has on the internet and in social media. Pinterest similarly is looking forward to creating a positive relationship and expanding their horizons. This information is based on the assumption that the company is definitely keen on targeting people on all scales and communicating with organizations of all sizes, so as to make a lasting impression in the digital media.

Outlining Their Position

When compared to Twitter or Facebook Pinterest is a completely different website. Unlike their competitors the platform is not used to share the latest news, but it has provided many companies the opportunity to show off their products, offerings, and ideas to different audiences. All of their content is acquired from publishers, and it shares tons of images to users.
