New Assassin’s Creed: Unity Trailer Showcases Co-op and Customization

by GH Staff

In this latest Assassin’s Creed: Unity trailer, Creative Director Alex Amancio takes us through co-op gameplay, and the role that customization options made available for your Assassin play in tailoring your Assassin’s abilities to suit your play style:

Unity is the first Assassin’s Creed to incorporate a deep progression system, where each skill or asset you choose has a critical impact on your gameplay. All of your skills are broken down into three categories: combat, navigation, and stealth, from which you must pick and choose different specialities to adapt your Assassin to how you want to play. There are no classes, but choosing different customization options allow you to adopt very different playstyles, such as a focus on stealth or ranged attacks.

Items obtained during the campaign allow you to upgrade your arsenal, and different gear will help you amplify your preferred gameplay style. For example, certain hoods are better for stealth but poor for health, whereas heavy armour has high protection but low stealth. Similarly certain weapons have a high ability to parry but low damage and vice-versa.

Co-op can be played with two to four players during certain campaign missions, and you now have the ability to share certain skills with others, allowing each player to focus on different a skill set with each player still being able to benefit from other abilities. When accepting a mission, you can find other players to help through the player ranking system, allowing you to find teammates of similar skill, and with varied equipped skill sets.

Does this information make you excited to play Assassin’s Creed: Unity on November 13th? Let us know in the comments.
