Metal Gear Collection 2014 Kojima

Hideo Kojima, the insane genius behind the Metal Gear Solid game franchise, has recently posted a very ambiguous image on his Twitter that simply says, “Metal Gear Collection 2014” in plain text.

You can see Kojima’s particular tweet and image below:

What the tweet really means remains to be seen.

Public speculation assumes that it means a multi-platform current-generation/PC release of all the Metal Gear Solid games is coming sometime this year, similar to the most recent Metal Gear Solid HD Collection (released for PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, and Xbox 360).

Some astute individuals may notice that the image does not say “Metal Gear Solid Collection 2014,” just “Metal Gear Collection 2014,” which might mean that the collection may contain the original 1987 Metal Gear game, alongside the other Metal Gear games included with Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence.

Hopefully, Kojima will give a bit more insight in regards to his mysterious tweet in the coming days.

With this year’s Tokyo Game Show just around the corner, and a ridiculous amount of hype for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, Kojima-san sure has a lot on his plate. And as expected, gamers are eating it right up.

What are your thoughts on Kojima’s tweet? What do you think it means? Would you like to see a current-generation/PC versions of all previous MGS games? Why or why not?
