Grand Theft Auto V

Amid all the rumors and speculations about the official launch date of Grand Theft Auto V on next-gen consoles and PC, Rockstar Games has officially announced a launch date.

Back in early September, an unofficial (at the time) release date was leaked showing that Grand Theft Auto V would be available for the Playstation 4 and Xbox One on November 18. Shortly after it was released the post was taken down. Turns out, it was accurate.

Rockstar Games unveiled today that Grand Theft Auto V will make its next-gen console debut on November 18 with a PC launch date slated for January 27 (sorry PC gamers). The unveiling came in the form of an announcement trailer and posting on the Rockstar Games website.

The re-release on next-gen consoles is said to feature some major visual and technical upgrades to “make Los Santos and Blaine County more immersive than ever.” Along with increased draw distances and a higher resolution, the next-gen upgrade will also feature;

–       New weapons, vehicles and activities
–       Additional wildlife
–       Denser traffic
–       New foliage system
–       Enhanced damage and weather effects, and much more

Grand Theft Auto V for the Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC will also come equipped with 100 additional songs and new DJ mixes for the 17 stations on the radio.

Pre-ordering Grand Theft Auto V will grant you $1,000,000 of in-game bonus cash to spend on whatever your heart desires.

Haven’t you dreamt of clubbing mimes in a higher resolution?

Already put countless hours into Grand Theft Auto V and afraid to make the jump in fear of losing all that work? Well, fear not, for I come bearing news in the form of that kid who pushes you off the high-dive when you clearly don’t want to jump. Ahem, existing players from the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of Grand Theft Auto V will be able to transfer their progress to the next-gen console of their choosing. Not only that, being an existing player comes with a little bit of a bonus. As a returning player, you will have access to a host of exclusive content which includes rare versions of classic cars from across the entire Grand Theft Auto series such as the Dukes, the Dodo Seaplane and a more maneuverable blimp. You will also have access to activities such as wildlife photography and new shooting range challenges. As tempting as those exclusives may seem, it’s not as simple as just owning the game. A Rockstar Games Social Club account will be require, as well as a current Playstation Network or Xbox Live account. Players must also have previously completed the Grand Theft Auto V Prologue in either previous-gen game.
