Today, the demo for Forza Horizon 2 on Xbox One was released, and can be downloaded now. The demo contains 2 races, 1 showcase event, and on Bucket List challenge, along with a taste of the open world which you can freely drive around. The demo itself is a whopping 10.4 GB. It is definitely worth the download if you are on the fence about the game, and watch for my impressions on it coming later today.
On top of this, the game was also made available to pre purchase and pre download today. And, four versions are available. The Regular game, the Day One Edition, the Day One Deluxe Edition, and the Day One Ultimate Edition. The regular game and Day One edition are the same price, but the Day One Edition includes a Day One Car pack. The Day One Deluxe Edition costs $79.99 USD, and comes with the Day One Car pack, and VIP pack. The Day One Ultimate Edition comes with the Day One Car pack, VIP pack, and Car Pass.

Possibly the biggest thing about the new today is that times to unlock the game are now apparently based on EDT. This was verified by Major Nelson on the Xbox One Subreddit. One person, username jtsuth, commented “Man I hope that’s not a typo.” Major Nelson responded, simply saying, “It is not.” So, this either means that all unlock times will be based on EDT, or possibly localized. Either is a very welcome fix to pre purchasing games on Xbox One, as they ran on PST before, meaning people in CST, for example, would have to wait until 2 AM.
