Final Fantasy XV TGS 2014 Trailer Released

by GH Staff

Direct from Tokyo Game Show 2014 we get another look at the highly anticipated RPG title: Final Fantasy XV (15). This trailer features more incredible real time gameplay that has the heroes battling mythical monsters and men in armor, with a driving sequence in-between. Details are still scarce as to what the core story involves or when the game will finally launch, but we do know that it will be releasing for PS4 as well as Xbox One. It was also confirmed that a playable demo will be packaged with Final Fantasy Type-0 HD when that launches on March 17 2015. Take a look at the new trailer below.

Final Fantasy XV strays away from traditional turn based Final Fantasy gameplay and instead ventures more into real time action, the likes of Kingdom Hearts. In fact, you’ll notice very similar aspects of Kingdom Hearts in FFXV, due to one of the lead designers being Tetsuya Nomrua, the developer of the Kingdom Hearts series. However, recent news suggests that Nomura has stepped away from working on FFXV to focus on Kingdom Hearts III and other projects.

FFXV was intiially called ‘Final Fantasy Versus XIII’ and was announced around the same time as Final Fantasy XIII. The original game was in development for years since 2006 and many speculated it would release for PS3. Since this release never came and the current gen of consoles rolled around, Square Enix pushed it back and turned it into FFXV for current gen, not PS3 (or Xbox 360 for that matter). Hopefully we’ll learn more about this highly anticipated, but rarely seen RPG game very soon.
