EA Sports has announced the latest batch of players that will feature in Team of the Week for FIFA 14’s Ultimate Team mode.

Last week’s Team of the Week was the second consecutive time where a Barclays Premier League side had the highest rated card — Chelsea’s Cesc Fàbregas rated at 89 from August 20th to Auguest 27th, while Manchester City’s Stevan Jovetić was rated 85 from August 27th to September 3rd — but that streak ended this week with Chelsea striker Diego Costa in Team of the Week with an 87-rated card (1 rating below Italian forward Antonio Di Natale).

Diego Costa, Chelsea’s £32million summer signing from reigning La Liga champions Atlético Madrid, earned this card after the 25-year-old Spaniard scored within the first minute against Everton and sealed a 6-3 win for Chelsea with the final goal of the match.

Udinese’s striker Antonio Di Natale (rated 88), Inter Milan’s goalkeeper Samir Handanović (rated 86) and A.S. Roma’s midfielder Radja Nainggolan (rated 80) make their appearance from the Serie A, and Paris Saint-Germain’s left-back Maxwell (rated 80) and Olympique de Marseille’s attacking midfielder Dimitri Payet (rated 82) are representing Ligue 1 in Team of the Week.

EA Sports have also confirmed that transferred players from the closing day of the transfer window will now be available in Ultimate Team packs, which includes Radamel Falcao (moved on a season-long loan from AS Monaco to Manchester United), Shinji Kagawa (who departed from Manchester United following an unsuccessful spell with the club and returned to his former club Borussia Dortmund) and Danny Welbeck (a former Manchester United youth academy player who went to Premier League side Arsenal for a fee believed to be in the region of £16million).

In other FIFA-related news, Nate Mitchell, co-founder of the upcoming VR headset Oculus Rift, said that he believes EA’s latest football instalment this year, FIFA 15, would be “the perfect fit” for the device. More details on that story can be found here.

EA’s FIFA 15 is scheduled for release in late September on Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, PlayStation 4, Nintendo 3DS, Wii and PC.
