In the passing weeks since the launch of Bungie’s newest IP, Destiny, players have been torn and squabbling over views of the title. There are those severely disappointed with the lack of depth the game offered, and those that praise it for being a solid shooter – but regardless of how you felt, there was one holy grail that brought every Guardian together… The bastion of Earth – Loot Cave.
This afternoon Hotfix 5 went live, patching our beloved landmark and it’s beautiful bounty.
The Hive of the holy “Treasure Cave” have realized the futility of their endless assault on Skywatch and have retired to lick their wounds and plan their next attack.
Respawn timers for monster caves in Skywatch have been normalized to 40 seconds (increased from 6)
The ‘Loot Cave’ was an area found on Earth where enemy respawn times were, for some reason, significantly shorter than everywhere else in the game. Because of this, Guardians could stand several feet back and enjoy an endless free flow of enemies, funnelled through one small cave entrance. The streams of bad guys turned the standard grind on its head, sending you a mile a minute as exp came in fast and easy. More importantly to those higher levelled players, loot drops were faster, easier and localised. Entering the cave was a gorgeous glowing treasure trove of armour, weapons and ammo.
Although there were several areas similar to this in Destiny, Loot Cave Earth was definitely the fan favourite. I’m going to miss standing there for hours on end doing nothing other than shooting into one singular black spot from miles away… oh wait.
