So, Destiny has been out for a while, and it’s interesting to see just how long it takes before people find the most effective ways to farm for loot. Turns out, not very long.
If you head to the Russian countryside, through the building when you first fight the moon-wizard and you’ll see a cave. Usually with a few high level players there shooting repeatedly.
So why is this a such a popular farming spot? Well, if you kill all the Hive Thralls and Acolytes before they escape the cave, the enemies will continue respawning indefinitely. Every now and then you can wander in to collect the abundance of engrams and ammo that are dropped, before retreating back out to repeat the process. If you’re a low level, then this seems like a great way to both grind for XP and gear. If you’re a higher level and are just wanting those legendary engrams, then spend a few hours here and you’ll likely find something you like.
Force Strategy Gaming has released a video showcasing this. The video showcases the way to get to the cave, and the type of loot you can usually find. You’ll need to kill all the enemies for the next “wave” to respawn, you need to stand behind the slab shown in the video otherwise you don’t get as many spawns. If you’re feeling particularly lazy, even if you stand there and your companions shoot the enemies, you’ll still get the loot! But don’t be a scrub, take part, help kill the enemies so you can all reap the rewards.
