In a tweet from the official Ryse Twitter account, it was announced that Ryse: Son of Rome, one of the Xbox One’s launch titles, will be coming to PC this fall.
Another tweet from Deep Silver, who will be publishing the game for PC, revealed that the PC version of the game will include all of the DLC as well as support for 4K resolutions. One of Ryse’s biggest selling points was how well it showed off the Xbox One’s graphical power so it’s no surprise to see that same emphasis here.
Apart from the graphics, the rest of the game wasn’t met with much praise. Most of the complaints centered around the game’s repetitive and boring hack-and-slash combat.
Ryse also failed to sell very well resulting in the cancellation of its sequel and causing financial problems for its developer, Crytek. In the face of its economic woes, Crytek recently sold the rights to and turned over development of Homefront: The Revolution to Deep Silver. In the press release for Homefront’s sale, CEO of Crytek Cevat Yerli said the company was going to become an “online publisher” so a focus on the PC market isn’t surprising.
