Pokémon X & Y Super Speed Double Battle Event Confirmed

Pokémon X & Y is scheduled to receive a brand-new online event for players to participate in, which has been officially titled as Super Speed Double Battle.

Running from August 8th to August 10th — with Serebii confirming that registration is required before the event takes place — Super Speed Double Battle does exactly what its name suggests: a Double Battle mode that only offers you 20 seconds to decide what move to make. Additionally, the mode specifically has you select 3 out of your 4 Pokémon to take into a battle, as well as keeping the opponent’s team hidden before the match starts.

Super Speed Double Battle does place a restriction on certain Pokémon that are not eligible to enter the competition, which includes the following:  Mewtwo, Mew, Lugia, Ho-Oh, Celebi, Kyogre, Groudon, Rayquaza, Jirachi, Deoxys, Dialga, Palkia, Giratina, Phione, Manaphy, Darkrai, Shaymin, Arceus, Victini, Reshiram, Zekrom, Kyurem, Keldeo, Meloetta, Genesect, Xerneas, Yveltal, Zygarde and Diancie.

Pokémon will be automatically raised to level 50 for the competition, and the maximum number of battles that a player can participate in a single day is 10.

Super Speed Double Battle offers 1,000 Poké Miles to each participant in the competition, making this a free incentive that Pokémon fans should not be disappointed with.
