Pokémon X & Y Shiny Gengar Event Confirmed for Japan

Pokémon X & Y is scheduled to receive a new event exclusively for Japan, with it allowing users to download the well-known Ghost-type Pokémon Gengar in its shiny form.

Centred on an upcoming promotion for Halloween called “White Gengar,” the shiny Gengar is presented to Trainers in a Dusk Ball and is set at Level 25, with the moveset for the Pokémon also revealed: Shadow Ball, Confuse Ray, Sludge Wave and Astonish.

Serebii has stated that Gengar cannot learn the move Sludge Wave normally, meaning that it’s an opportunity for enthusiastic Pokémon X & Y users to receive a very special Pokémon.

Gengarite is the Mega Stone that participants of the event will receive along with Gengar, allowing you to use a white Mega Gengar during a battle.

Running from September 13th to October 14th, no specific details have been confirmed as to which stores will be hosting the event in Japan, but more details are expected to be announced in the next few weeks.

It was announced yesterday that Pokémon X & Y will be receiving an upcoming battle competition taking place worldwide in September, with the tournament dubbed as Fairy Garden and, as the name suggests, focuses on Fairy-type Pokémon. Specific details regarding that event can be found here.

Nintendo also confirmed that the highly anticipated Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire are set to receive steelbook bundles in Europe, with retailer GAME stating that all pre-orders will come with either a Primal Groudon or Primal Kyogre figurine depending on the title being purchased.

Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire will be released worldwide in November on Nintendo 3DS.
