League of Legends 2014 World Championship Prize Pool Exceeds $2 Million!

League of Legends has been dominating the eSports image for quite a time and now things are going to get even more intense with the 2014 World Championship Prize Pool coming in at over $2 Million!

Riot Games have reveled that their proposed prize pool for this years World Championship event will be over 2 Million Dollars and will take place in October, 2014, The team the comes in at first place throughout the competition will be awarded $1 Million Dollars while second place will receive $250,000 Dollars and will decrease gradual from third place through to fifth with the lowest prize money being $75,000 Dollars.

I’m sure you are wondering why and how this prize pool is so large? Well the reason for this large sum of money is due to¬† League of Legends Twitch coverage as in May League of Legends was the most watched game on Twitch.TV and has since been the most streamed game on the Twitch platform, even as I write this article hundreds of users are live and streaming League of Legends with even more people watching, this insane coverage is something a TV Show Radio Station could only dream of having this much coverage.
