Harvest Moon Animals finally have Preferences and Traits

by GH Staff

Announced seven hours ago on twitter, Natsume Inc. has released another ceecee blog that provides more insights into the upcoming project called Harvest Moon 3D: the Lost Valley; this farming simulator is going back to its original roots. Instead of adding more barn animals, the developing team is keeping the typical selections: sheeps, cows, chickens, and horses. Despite the reduce numbers, these loving creatures will finally have preferences and personality traits.

This implemented system enables players to seek animals with the traits they desire most, while other virtual farmers may aim for a barn or coop filled with the same traits or a balance across these attributes. Fortunately, this second development blog name a few of these various traits.

For starters, these breeds prefer a favorite season (winter, spring, summer, or fall), which influences how fast the affection level increases. Depending if these creatures are “calm, strong-willed, or patient”, they will have higher tolerance for stress in different situations. Yet, watch out for the elegant ones; these beings dislike being dirty, but they provide a big affection bonus for each brush. Of course, the higher the affection means the higher quality products.

Best of all, breeding a specific animal with a particular trait will lead to a super version of the skill. For example, great goods will become high-quality products when the livestock have strong and powerful body. Rarely, the livestock can also be blessed with the skill called “Learning”, which allows them to learn skills quickly and easily.

Hopefully, this news will excite anticipated fans who ponder about purchasing this family-oriented title, but will this win readers’ attention? North American audiences will experience this innovative project for the Nintendo 3DS on October 21, 2014. Remember to preorder at Gamestop to acquire the extra bonus!
