Etrian Odyssey II Remake Confirmed
Atlus has officially confirmed a remake of Etrian Odyssey II: Heroes of Lagaard for the 3DS, which is to release sometime in 2014 in Japan, specially during the winter season, but a specific date wasn’t mentioned. No signs of a release outside of Japan are present, but considering the original made its way to North America, there’s still plenty of hope.
The official website is now accessible, although the “Grand Open” will take place August 11, just a few days from now. Whilst little is known of the remake, we do know animation studio Madhouse is to handle the game’s opening sequence, whilst Itou Kanako, best known for her singing in anime and video games, will be doing the main theme.
The original Etrian Odyssey II: Heroes of Lagaard was released back in 2008 on the DS, which when you think about it, is quite a short amount of time to be thinking about a remake. Atlus have released a trailer to accompany the announcement, which can be seen below – it shows off some of the characters and gameplay mechanics you may already be familiar with. It’s completely in Japanese, so unfortunately unless you are fluent, no additional information can be extracted as of yet.
