The appropriately named Ultimate Evil Edition comes complete with both Diablo 3 and the Reaper of Souls which means players will be able to couch surf their way through the hordes of hell that much quicker. For those who have yet to play Reaper of Souls, the expansion comes complete with many new additions to Diablo 3 which makes for a whole new demon crushing experience.
Battle the Forces of Hell from the Safety of Your Living Room
The console version of Diablo 3 allows you to play solo or with a party of up to four; this being with either local players on the same screen or online through the Playstation Network or Xbox Live. Mike Morhaime, CEO and co-founder of Blizzard Entertainment said in a press release;
With the Ultimate Evil Edition, we wanted to create a truly epic action-RPG for current- and next-gen systems, so we included all of the latest Diablo III and Reaper of Souls content and added innovative social features like the Nemesis System and Apprentice Mode
The Diablo 3 Ultimate Evil Edition has been completely crafted for consoles. Taking full advantage of the opportunity to play local with friends sharing the same screen, or online with people from all over, the Ultimate Evil Edition makes experience Diablo with friends that much better. Players who dove into Diablo 3 on the PS3 or Xbox 360 and are wishing to take the experience further are able to do so. Not only that, the Ultimate Evil Edition includes cross-platform support, so players who have characters on the PS3 or Xbox 360 versions can be transferred to the PS4 or Xbox ONE.
Changes With Reaper of Souls
Reaper of Souls is the first expansion to hit Diablo 3 and with the many issues that riddled Diablo 3 from launch, it was definitively a completely refreshing experience. Although not directly tied in with the Reaper of Souls expansion, a timely release of a free update for Diablo 3 brought on an array of new features that opened up for the launch of the expansion. These features included a major overhaul of the games loot system, an expanded progression system for max-level characters called the Paragon system, as well as new social tools such as Clans and Communities. Upon purchase of the Reaper of Souls expansion, players gained immediate access to the content which included;
- Act V: A dark and terrifying chapter sending players on a final confrontation with death itself
- The Crusader: A new playable hero—a veritable war machine made human
- Level Cap to 70: Formidable new spells and abilities that take players to new heights of power
- Adventure Mode: A new game mode that gives players the freedom to go anywhere and slay anything
- Bounties: Randomized objectives that reward players in new ways for exploring Sanctuary
- Nephalem Rifts: Fully randomized dungeons offering endless replayability and heaps of loot
- The Mystic: A powerful new artisan who provides heroes with loot-customization options
The Angel of Death Cometh
Act V, the newest chapter that Reaper of Souls introduced, set players off on a death defying adventure through the legendary city of Westmarch; crushing endless minions of hell along the way, the adventure leads players towards a climactic encounter with the Angel of Death himself, Malthael. I’m not going to go into any detail, but this confrontation is hands down my most enjoyable moment from the whole Diablo 3 experience.
Joining the original five playable classes (Barabarian, Demon Hunter, Witch Doctor and Wizard) the Crusader is the newest Hero to take a stand against the forces of evil. Reminiscent of the Paladin from Diablo 2, the crusader is a warrior of light whose out to rid the people of Sanctuary from the darkness that is Malthael.
Clad head to toe in fortified armor, the Crusader is an unstoppable force of righteous destruction who channels the power of divine wrath to visit retribution upon his demonic quarry.
The Last of Us: PS3 and PS4 Exclusive Content
Partnering with Naughty Dog, the team behind The Last of Us, Blizzard has created a PS3 and PS4 exclusive Nephalem Rift. Based off creatures modeled from the infected from The Last of Us, the Naphalem Rift is a randomized dungeon level that is swarmed with Stalkers, Clickers and the Bloated.
If crushing demons from the extreme comfort of your couch is your cup of tea, then the Diablo 3 Ultimate Evil Edition is the right choice for you. So take up arms against the evil hordes of hell, but just don’t take them up too hard, in case, you know, there are any fragile’s around.
