Assassin’s Creed producer Karl von der Luhe recently dismissed complaints from fans over the back-to-back releases of Assassin’s Creed: Rogue and Unity.
While speaking to Eurogamer during Gamescom, Karl von der Luhe the producer of Assassin’s Creed: Rogue believes that the complaints being heard from fans over the releases of Assassin’s Creed: Unity and Rogue is nothing more than “a vocal minority that feel that way”. Explaining more in detail the producer went on to say:
“There are the hardcore Assassin’s Creed fans that are happy to play two games and there are of course many fans who have not yet made that financial move to go to next-gen…And these are the guys that we’re really catering for – they’re thankful for the fact that they will have a compelling Assassin’s Creed game to play on either their Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3.”
Luhe also went on to say that the decision to release the two titles this year was made “a long time ago”, despite production on Assassin’s Creed: Rogue having begun more recently. When pressed for more details on when, specifically, Assassin’s Creed: Rogue was put into production, Luhe said the following:
“I won’t go into the exact details of when we started and all that, but we’re very confident with the amount of time we’ve had this.”
Also confirmed were story details on Assassin’s Creed: Rogue which Luhe explains will include Shay — the main character of the new game — meeting with Assassin’s Creed 3’s Haytham Kenway, who Luhe claims “You’ll see a lot of him in the game”, as well as a present day storyline in the new title. Details on the present day storyline were quite sparse from Luhe with no other information revealed on it.
Assassin’s Creed fans won’t have to wait too long for those details as Assassin’s Creed: Unity — coming out for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 — will see a release on October 28th, with Assassin’s Creed: Rogue — releasing for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 — following very shortly on November 11th.
