The Walking Dead is Getting a Season 3

by GH Staff

Telltale Games’s The Walking Dead was a massive success, effectively launching the company and their brand of adventure game into the mainstream. Now with Season 2 nearing its conclusion, Telltale has revealed that the series will be getting a Season 3.

Telltale Games President and co-founder Kevin Bruner announced the next season at San Diego Comic-Con today at Skybound (Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman’s comic publishing imprint) panel hosted by IGN’s Greg Miller. Considering the success of The Walking Dead series and Telltale’s other adventure game/comic book adaptation, The Wolf Among Us, this isn’t necessarily the biggest surprise but it’s a nice confirmation for fans of the wonderfully traumatic series.

As of yet, we don’t know any details about the new season. The Walking Dead: Season Two released Episode 4 less than a week ago so with still one episode left before the season is over, we don’t know where (or how alive) any of the characters will be.

Telltale is also currently developing an adventure game based in the Borderlands series called Tales from the Borderlands as well as a Game of Thrones adventure game.

Episode 5 of The Walking Dead: Season Two is titled, “No Going Back” and will presumably be out around September of this year.

If we hear any more of the new season of The Walking Dead, we’ll be sure to let you know.
