Surface Pro 3 Wifi issues still continue despite 16th Update

Despite Microsoft and various other websites reporting that the 16th of July Wifi update fixed any remaining Wifi issues. It hasn’t at all. Its seems around the website people are saying its fixed. Closer inspection of such websites shows they don’t actually own the system, an assume it fixes it because MS have said it is.

Our two Surface Pro 3’s in the office here continue to suffer from this issue, coming out of Stand-by or Hibernate Wifi just doesn’t work. Before we would have a limited connection issue showing. Now, Wifi is connected but we can’t open any web pages. It’s also noted that the Wifi connection will disconnect and reconnect again quickly after enabling resume on the system. Its often just dropping connection altogether too, which is very annoying.

Not again, more Surface Pro 3 Wifi issues...

Argh not again, more Surface Pro 3 Wifi issues…

Problems still persist with slow Wifi speeds on battery power, enabling HyperV and forcing high performance does help. But this is not the best solution if your running of the Surface Pro 3’s battery. And course HyperV disables connected standby.

Is Intel to blame here? Connected standby has been troublesome, as Baytrail tablets that had 64bit enabled CPU’s had to run with 32bit windows because Intel just couldn’t get the drivers ready in time. Just look at the Baytrail powered Venue 11 Pro from Dell or Asus’s T100TA baytrail powered Windows 8.1 tablet. Thier CPU’s support 64bit, but due to connected standy by issues have to run 32bit windows.

We will keep you posted on any fixes from Microsoft, for now its wait and see. See the official Microsoft answers forum with others that still have this issue. Let MS know that its not fixed!
