Sony president believes Uncharted ‘good candidate’ to remake on PlayStation 4

Could we be seeing all three Uncharted games on the PlayStation 4? Sony Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida hints at the potential to see the Uncharted trilogy on PS3 move on over to the PS4.

Since Sony’s new console has picked up steam, there’s a chance to see multiple PS3 games being re-released on the PS4. This way gamers that skipped out on the third iteration of PlayStation can play the game and do it in an upgraded fashion. However, Yoshida doesn’t want to flood the new console with last-generation ports.

From EuroGamer:

“Almost 50 per cent of people who have purchased a PS4 didn’t own a PS3, and that’s lots of people that missed exclusive PS3 titles like The Last of Us, so it’s a great way to welcome those people back to PlayStation, saying this is what you missed.

“There are requests from some consumers for games that were released later in the generation, like Uncharted, which people might have missed,” says Yoshida. “That would be a good candidate. We don’t want to flood the market with remade games either.”

With the explosion of high-definition gaming in the last generation, Sony ended up having A LOT of graphical upgrades to old PlayStation and PlayStation 2 titles. Jak and Dakter, Sly Cooper, God of War, and more were re-released in HD on the PS3

So far, we’ve seen Tomb Raider and The Last of Us receive a graphical upgrade to the PS4. But outside of re-releasing the Uncharted series upscaled to 1080p and/or 60 frames per second, are there really a lot of games or series that warrant that kind of upgrade from last generation?
