Pokémon GTS Passes 100 Million Trades

Just last night Pokémon X & Y passed a massive milestone, 100,000,000 trades have officially been made over the Global Trading System since both games launched last fall. To celebrate this momentous occasion Pokémon players will be gifted with a very special fancy pattern Vivillion, a bug-type Pokémon that has 15 different designs on its wings depending on where you catch it. For this event your gifted Vivillion has a special pattern you’ll only be able to get between now (07/07/14) until July 31st. This special Vivillion also comes with a new move called hold hands, other moves include Gust, Light Screen and Struggle Bug. On upon receiving your new Pokémon its opening lvl will be lvl 12.

“Because of this characteristic, players around the world have been exchanging Vivillon via the GTS to collect all of the regional patterns,” the announcement reads. “This newly discovered Vivillon breaks with that tradition: it will become available to Pokémon fans across the globe once the 100 millionth Pokémon is traded via the GTS. When this enormous milestone is reached, a special distribution event will take place, enabling all players of Pokemon X or Pokemon Y to receive the Fancy Pattern Vivillon wherever they are in the world!”

To receive your special Vivillion gift, all you have to do is login via the internet through the game, then pick Vivillion up from the Poké Center. Enjoy and happy trading everybody!
