Anyone Can Join Pro MLG Gaming at San Diego Comic Con

At this year’s San Diego Comic Con, running over the weekend of July 24th – 27th, any and all attending patrons will be given the opportunity to take the Major League Gaming centre stage, testing their abilities in an open knock-out competition. MLG has teamed up with Microsoft to sport the event “Xbox Tournaments Powered by MLG”, hosted at the Xbox Gaming Lounge.

Offering all attendees the chance to pit themselves against the crowd, MLG will be playing Titanfall, Forza 5 and Killer Instinct at the annual convention. The entirety of the three tournaments will be streamed live over, which will feature running commentary from regarded professional MLG commentator, Chris Puckett. Besides playing against each other, players will have the opportunity to play against recognisable YouTube personalities such as JahovasWitniss, NobodyEpic, LEGIQN and KyrSp33dy.

Every morning Comic Con badge holders will enter themselves into the massive event – some for pride, some for fun, and many for prizes. MLG and Microsoft will be offering a vast array of prizes to successful combatants, including limited edition t-shirts, Xbox gift cards and much, much more. Luckily, eager players wont be limited to any singular tournament, and can return each day of the event to join in the action all over again.

As well as being able to participate in the tournament at the Xbox lounge, convention goers will also be given access to an exclusive eSports panels running alongside the open competitions. You’ll be given the opportunity to learn more about eSports and professional gaming at a show featuring MLG VP Ryan ‘Fwiz’ Wyatt, entitled “eSports – How to Become a Pro Competitor” on Saturday 26th at 4:30PM PT.

Whether or not you’re a fan of  itself MLG, the chance to game face to face with hundreds of competitors, all with varied backgrounds, skill sets and personalities certainly sounds like an incredible way to spend the day. Streaming will go live at 11AM PT, Thursday July 24th at Even if you can’t manage to attend the event this year, tune in and you wont have to miss out on what could be one of the highlights of the show!
