Hyrule Warriors Trailer Shows Off Impa

by GH Staff

A new trailer (see below) has been released today showcasing a recurring character within The Legend of Zelda series; Impa. She first made her appearance in the original NES game back in 1987 and has since been the regular nursemaid to Princess Zelda herself. Now she enters Hyrule Warriors, a project fusing common themes throughout the Zelda universe and gameplay recognised in titles such as Dynasty Warriors due to both Nintendo and Tecmo Koei working together on the title.

We see Impa holding a large blade, in which she swiftly takes out hordes of enemies in quick succession, making for a very fast and powerful character. She is also seen performing an ability which effectively makes arrows rain down on the enemy, and finally we are able to witness a special move that causes massive widespread damage – effective for almost any situation.

The game is exclusive to Wii U and takes a huge leap from traditional Zelda gameplay values, introducing large-scale hack ‘n’ slash elements typical of previous Tecmo Koei titles. It should also be noted the game will contain multiplayer features, something that isn’t traditionally seen in Zelda games. Hyrule Warriors will hit shelves August 14.
