Titanfall #2 on UK Sales Chart, I would say that makes a pretty successful week of sales. Titanfall almost beat the 12 week leading series of FIFA 14, having trailed behind by just a few of hundred sales. However Minecraft has a life of its own taking places #3 and #4 on the UK Sales Chart.
Why is Minecraft so successful on the UK Sales Chart? Minecraft is a diffrent kind of game whether its single player, local multiplayer or even online play that you favor Minecraft has it all. Minecraft also has one of the most active modding communities around keeping the game fresh across all platforms. Why separate Minecraft Xbox 360 from Playstation 3? Well Minecraft: Playstation 3 Edition was released separately from last year’s Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition therefore sales are bound to fare very differently for the two.
Who cares about Minecraft though, right? Look at how much better Call of Duty: Ghosts is doing in comparison to Battlefield 4. In fact if you take a look at Grand Theft Auto 5 it’s at the bottom of the list, right below Battlefield 4. I have inserted the release dates of the 3 games down below on the UK Sales Chart, as it seems to make the most sense to say that sales go down as time passes by and this appears to be so.
Upcoming games will also have a huge effect on the UK Sales Chart. I expect to see Watchdogs up on this list in the near future. Whether it will have the same longevity on this list as some of the more well known titles will remain to be seen. Another game to look out for is Mario Kart 8 which will release 3 days after Watchdogs on 30 May 2014 for the Wii U. I expect Nintendo will be hoping to hit this list hard with its new game. Lord knows Wii U needs the sales.
