Ubisoft Engineer’s Twitter Account Disappears After New Game Rumors

by GH Staff

After yesterday’s tweet and rumors about a new Prince of Persia game, the Twitter account of Drew James (UbiDrew) has suddenly disappeared. The Ubisoft engineer’s tweet contained an image of several Princes from the Prince of Persia franchise with the caption “What next for #PrinceofPersia”? This was the tweeted image:

The potential new game was teased after information leaked regarding a new Prince of Persia title in development using Rayman Legends’ UbiArt Framework. Drew James was tweeting to his followers regarding the UbiArt engine but still addressed it as a rumor (I recall him retweeting our Gamer Headlines article too). This comes as a surprise considering he tagged other Ubisoft employees in the tweet, employees who were actually surprised when his account vanished. You can find Drew’s archived tweets on one page, courtesy of InaGist.

This news is very perplexing and comes as a shock to many. Perhaps Drew’s account was deactivated for spreading rumors about a new Prince of Persia when he wasn’t supposed to. Considering the reaction of many people to his account’s disappearance, it seems that some think he was a fake employee whilst others know him to be true. Ubisoft never comments on rumors, but they have followed up rumors in the past with an official reveal, such as with Assassin’s Creed Unity. Hopefully Ubisoft will reveal something soon and also issue a statement regarding Drew James’ Twitter account.
