TGH’s 12 Video Game Classics – Then and Now

by GH Staff

As gaming is entering a whole new era of next-gen, we here at The Gamer Headlines decided to check out 12 of the most famous video game classics and how they have changed over time.

Fifa and Madden NFL games may change only a bit each year, but looking back as far as when the first video games of the two franchises were released, we can see that even the smallest change actually matters. From our favorite hero of all time Link, through Final Fantasy, to the shooters that always take our breath away – the list has it all.

At times, as the modern next-gen graphics take our breath away, we tend to forget how gaming has developed over the past two decades. Moreover, if it wasn’t for the old pixelized 2D games we wouldn’t be able to enjoy video games such as GTA V or Battlefield 4. Without further adieu, here are 12 of the longest surviving game franchises, their predecessors and their modern-day doubles.
