by GH Staff

Have you ever wondered what would happen if the original Street Fighter game was re-imagined as an Anime? The 2D fighting game Skullgirls embraces just that! Developed by indie developer Reverge Labs and co-published by Autumn Games and Konami, the game was first released through PSN and Xbox Live in April 2012. Although it did not get the attention it deserves, the developers continued working and improving the franchise as we are now able to see by the new launch trailers for their upcoming Skullgirls successor – Skullgirls Encore.

Almost two years after the release of the first game, Skullgirls Encore would be an improvement of the original title, featuring new networking code, new game modes and hundreds of tweaks. The game has various anime-styled characters and as the name suggests they are all girls. The environment of the game is just marvelous and this game is a true gem for everyone who loves the old Street Fighter games as well as anime.
