Rune Factory Devs Are Developing New IP ‘Forbidden Magna’

Marvelous AQL announce Forbidden Magna.

We reported yesterday that Marvelous AQL is teasing a new game from the Rune Factory devs, and apparently it was perfect timing because one day later, Marvelous AQL has officially announced what that next game is actually going to be. A simulation-RPG for the 3DS developed by the Rune Factory team, Kinki no Maguna (translated to Forbidden Magna) was unveiled earlier today by legendary Japanese publication Famitsu, and although very few details have been released regarding the game, the publication states that more details will be provided when the official site for the game launched February 17.

Late last year, Rune Factory developer Neverland filed for bankruptcy and closed its studio, yet it seems that Marvelous AQL could potentially be the new developer for the Rune Factory series. It makes sense – especially when you consider that many of the original team members for the series have been hired by Marvelous AQL and are developing this new IP.

Will this be a new beginning on a new IP, or will we see this IP developed by the Rune Factory team in addition to new Rune Factory games? Only time will tell, but one thing is certain: another potentially awesome IP by the team that brought us Rune Factory is definitely a good thing!
