[dropcap size=dropcap]W[/dropcap]ith the competition in the market for gaming consoles getting stiffer with every passing day, latest releases are bound to stay afloat. And with both Xbox and Playstation releasing new versions, it was only a matter of time before Nintendo responded. So now we have the 3DS from Nintendo to capitalize on the market. However, a lot of people seem to be complaining about the fact that this version too has been locked depending on the geographical location. But it is in line with the policy of the makers as was explained by the President of Nintendo in one of his speeches in the earlier part of 2013.
His explanation highlighted the fact that this was a way of coping with different levels and standards of acceptance around the world. The recent tie up with Louvre has been an added feature, ironically, to get rid of the issues of geographical segregation. As ironical as it may sound, the lock put according to geography is actually in contrast to the fact that Louvre tie up is a way of taking care of the regional boundaries. The 3DS system would contain more than 600 demonstrations of art as is put on display in the Louvre. Apart from the display, there is also audio accompanying the visual as if there was an actual guide enabled tour.
As for Nintendo lovers, this is another addition for them to continue their cherished relationship with Nintendo. But whether the launch will actually be able to draw attention and pull masses beyond Nintendo fanatics or not will remain a secret only to be revealed in the course of time.
