Releasing the latest update for Hearthstone, Blizzard commented on the open beta phase for their newest game. Although, at BlizzCon they’ve officially stated that Hearthstone would be ready to go in an open beta as soon as December hits, the game is still in a closed beta.
However, as their statement goes, they are doing that for the greater good. Blizzard is constantly updating the game and their servers in order to be able to support even more players. Recently, the ranking system has been changed as well.
Blizzard has also stated a few weeks ago that they will be sending invites not just to a selected few, but to everyone. They also seem to be keeping their promise, as everyone who opted in before December the 16th should already have a beta key in their e-mail. If you are one of the eager fans, who have waited long enough, but still haven’t received your key – be sure to check your e-mail as there should be a surprise from Blizzard waiting for you.
However, we might not be able to see the open beta release of Hearthstone as soon as expected. The date at which the closed beta opt ins will end is January 7th 2014. Everyone opted in until that date should get early access. Moreover, there probably won’t be another card data wipe, which means that your progress won’t be lost when the Open Beta hits. The future of Hearthstone is looking bright and even though it may hit open beta in late January 2014, if you opt in the closed beta you will definitely receive a Hearthsone beta key at some point before the closed beta period ends.
