Fallout 4 is not a hoax

by GH Staff

Thesurvivor2299 created frenzies among Fallout fans during the last few weeks, as it had been teasing with information about a possible Fallout 4 game. While the website was indeed a hoax, the project itself isn’t, as it turns out. The guys at Kotaku have gotten their hands on some documents that back up the rumors behind Bethesda’s undergoing Fallout 4 development.

The project is currently referred to as “Institute”, and there have been casting calls for it. There are documents to back up these statements, from scripts to character descriptions. Even though these documents don’t refer directly to Fallout, the setting and locations are a direct indication, as is the fact that the casting director is the same person behind Dishonored and Skyrim. Added to these facts, we’re also taking a leap in assuming that Bethesda has every possible reason to work on a sequel to Fallout 3 and New Vegas, as the Fallout series is one of their strongest franchises. I mean, who wouldn’t want to make more money and appease the hordes of fans in the process?

Other documents have been leaked as well, showing a preliminary script for the introduction sequence in the game (this time not being narrated by Ron Perlman), as well as missions set in the Institute, a post-apocalyptic version of MIT. The words “Commonwealth” and “fusion core” appear, suggesting that the Boston setting might not be just a fake rumor, and that the project does have technological similarities with the tech seen in previous Fallout games.
