Assassin’s Creed IV’s DLC gets a release date

by GH Staff

The news is out! Ubisoft announced today that the DLC for Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, entitled “Freedom Cry”, will be released on the 17th of December, 2013. This is just one of the DLC’s planned to be released for the game, along with “Blackbeard’s Wrath”, for which we don’t have an official release date yet.

Freedom Cry will include 9 new single-player missions that aim to add around 4 hours of single-player story and gameplay. The story shifts to Adewale, Edward Kenway’s first mate, who you will be controlling as the player and who finds himself finally freed from slavery, after 15 years. It remains to be discovered how Adewale had been trained to assassinate during this time, and what exactly are the motivations driving his actions. We’re glad to see Ubisoft expanding its range of protagonists though, and including and African descendant as a playable character.

The bundle will also include the  “Exclusive Kraken Ship Pack,” which will add several ship models and multiplayer character customization options.
