PS4 System Update 1.51 was released – Download Link Included
he last system update 1.51 for Playstation 4 consoles was released yesterday, Sony has announced. The update comes with an improved PS4 stability for the system software and includes several minor changes on the users’ interfaces. The system update will be downloaded automatically is the console is in stand-by mode.

If your PS4 console is not connected to the internet, and you still need to install the update, you may be able to do it by downloading the file on your laptop or PC.

Pay attention however, you will need to download for your region. The US official download link for the PS4 1.51 update is as follows: US Official Download Link 1.51

On the other hand, if you would like instead to perform a new and full installation of the update on the system software from another source (like the PC or the laptop) after replacing the hard disk drive or due to another issue, be careful to follow the next steps:

In order to perform the update you will need the Playstation 4 system, a computer connected to the Internet, 400 MB free space and a USB storage device.

Step1. First you will have to create a folder and name it “PS4” on the USB storage device (external drive or USB flash memory stick), from which you will want to perform the system update. Inside the selected folder, create another one and name it “UPDATE”.

Step2. Download the update file (the link is available above) and save it on the USB device inside the folder previously created and named “UPDATE”. Pay attention, as the filename should be “PS4UPDATE.PUP”. Use only uppercase letters as the console may not recognize the update file otherwise. Verify that all names were properly written as well.

Step3. Shut down the PS4 console and turn the power off completely. If the power led is still on, press the power button for at least 7 seconds until the console shuts down completely.

Step4. Once the update file is saved on the USB storage device and the PS4 console is shut down, connect the USB device to the console and press the power button once again for at least 7 seconds. The console will then restart in safe mode.

Step5. Once in safe mode, select the “Update System Software option and follow the screen steps in order to complete the update.
